On April 17th, Spring Creek Senior Partners (SCSP) members started their first virtual Nutrition and Health class on Zoom. This is an online platform that allows individuals to meet virtually. This application allows participants to see each other and to interact with their instructor, Jennilyn Jackman Baptiste.
Baptiste’s Nutrition and Health classes are held every Friday at 3pm.
In the first class, Baptiste explained the importance of the digestive system. She explained that in order to keep the digestive system working well it is important to eat a well-balanced diet. “Eating a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grain bread is one factor. You also need to eat slowly and when possible, try to relax for 30 minutes after each meal,” Baptiste said. She explained that exercising regularly is also important, as well as avoiding large amounts of caffeine.
